If you live in the South Miami / Pinecrest/ Kendall area, Austin’s Diving Center (http://www.austinsdiving.com/) is worth checking out. In addition to free diving and other specialty classes, the center offers instruction in a variety of scuba classes for divers of all levels. They use independent instructors, not store employees, which is a positive because they are not going to be trying to sell you anything. You can reach Austin’s Diving Center by phone at 305-665-0636. If you’re further north, in the North Miami area, you might consider Scuba Bitz (http://www.scubabitz.com/Scubabitz/DIVE_CLASSES.html). There, you can take Scuba lessons as an individual or with a group. The lessons are taught by Rob Davis, an experienced Scuba instructor. Contact Scuba Bitz at 786-202-7167. In the downtown area, Scuba Pro’s of Florida (http://scubapros-of-fla.com/) offer diving instruction as well as rentals and other services.
